I use 85% lean ground beef for this recipe. You can use a more affordable ground meat. you will have to use paper towels to blot some of the grease off the top and bottom of the meat after it is cooked. Additionally, if you use a 75% fat ground beef, you will see that the meat shrinks a little bit more than the more lean beef.
If you do not eat beef, you can substitute ground turkey for the beef in these mini big mac cheeseburgers. To be clear, I have not used ground turkey. I think you would still enjoy the flavor of these cheeseburgers. Remember when you flatten the meat on the cookie sheet to make it a little larger than the buns. Also, will be shrinking of the meat so you want to make sure that you have enough to cover the entire bun.
