PREPARATION:
1st Step
Make sure the fresh crabmeat you use has no shells or cartilage in it. If you’re using crabmeat from a can, drain it well and use a fork to pick out any shells or other debris.
2nd Step
Prepare the vegetables by washing them well and cutting them into small cubes or dice. Green onions should be sliced thinly, and fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley should be chopped. Cut the avocado into little cubes if you’re going to use it.
3rd Step
Prepared crabmeat, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red bell pepper, red onion, green onion, and fresh cilantro or parsley mixed together in a large mixing dish. If using avocado, incorporate it by folding it in lightly.
4th Step
In another bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, or Greek yogurt, freshly squeezed lemon juice, Dijon mustard, honey, and Old Bay seasoning. Black pepper and salt to taste.
