Although I’m sure the young soldier was stunned at first, he quickly silenced her with what he did next.
“It’s not a privilege, it’s a discount,” he told her. “A privilege is coming home. Go home to your family every night. Go home to a free country.”
“Some people give up their privileges so that people like you can have them,” he added.
After he finished berating the woman, a girl in line came up to pay for the man’s food, and the store manager ended up giving her food for free.
I wish that woman would learn her lesson that day. Veterans deserve our respect!
