Step 1: Prepare the Crust
First, you need to prepare the crust. Crush the Golden Oreos in a food processor until they are fine crumbs. Mix the crumbs with melted butter until they are fully combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Place the dish in the fridge to chill while you prepare the filling.
Step 2: Prepare the Filling
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar until creamy and smooth. Add in the whipped topping and mix until well combined. Spread the mixture over the crust evenly.
Step 3: Add the Toppings
Spread the cherry pie filling over the cream cheese layer. Sprinkle chopped pecans over the top, if desired.
Step 4: Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight. Slice and serve chilled.
