INSTRUCTIONS:
1st Step
In a large mixing bowl, carefully combine the Everclear or high-proof vodka with the whole milk. Stir gently until well mixed.
2nd Step
To the mixture, add the zest of four big oranges. This stage infuses the oranges’ vibrant, zesty taste into the alcohol and milk. Allow it to rest for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to fully extract.
3rd Step
After infusing the mixture, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the orange zest. This will leave a smooth and aromatic foundation.
4th Step
Combine the granulated sugar, water, and fresh orange juice in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring periodically. Remove from the fire and set aside to cool after the sugar has completely dissolved.
