- Banana peel tea
Not for drinking! The tea is for your plants to drink. It will provide them with nutrients and stimulate their growth. All they have to do is put a banana peel in a jug of water for 2 days and use it for watering.
- Plant them directly in the garden
You can plant fresh peels or the same ones that you have used to make the tea. Be sure to cut them into pieces and place them under the immediate surface of the soil or well below the seeds, before planting, so that the husk does not prevent root growth.
By cutting the shells into pieces, they are helping to speed up the decomposition process. When these husks begin to break down, they release vitamins and nutrients that improve the health of your plants.
- Composting the peels
Nobody likes to throw food away, so they can start composting their banana peels and adding other organic waste, little by little, to create an incredible compost.
- To make fertilizer
They only need to dry the banana peels and crush them, to create a nutrient-rich powder that they can use to fertilize the soil before planting.
- Plant the whole husk
This is probably the most obvious option, and it actually works very well. They will have to dig a trench about 10 cm deep where to place the shell. Then cover the husk with a little soil before planting the seeds. The husk will start to break down as the roots grow and the plant will receive some great nutrients.
