Instructions:
Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, blend the flour, salt, and sugar.
Add Shortening:
Incorporate the shortening until the mixture reaches a coarse crumb consistency.
Create the Dough:
In a separate small bowl, beat the egg. Add the beaten egg and water to the flour mixture, stirring until a cohesive dough forms.
Divide and Chill:
Divide the dough into four equal parts, ample for four pie crusts. Chill the dough in the refrigerator until you’re prepared to use it.
Roll Out the Dough:
On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to fit your pie pan.
