After much use and as much washing, glass glasses are prone to the appearance of an annoying white patina, which makes them dull and makes them lose all their elegance.
This patina is caused by limescale in the water, which accumulates on their surface and, also accomplice to the detergent we use during washing, in the long term causes the glass to lose its shine.
Before you buy shiny new glasses, you can try to recover your dull glasses with some DIY tricks.
The trick we suggest below is definitely the most effective for removing white patina from glassware. To put it into practice you only need two ingredients: salt and lemon.
Rub half a lemon on the inner surface of the glass. Apply some pressure, but be careful not to break the glass. The lemon will help soften the scale.
Immediately afterwards, sprinkle some salt on the inner surface of the glass. Even with salt you will have to rub vigorously, but gently. The salt will further remove the limestone.
This very effective trick may take a few minutes to be totally effective. Once finished, wash the glass with water and dishwashing detergent.
