With the arrival of summer, we can’t help but flaunt our colorful garments that add a touch of cheer to our outfits!
It is a shame, however, that these items of clothing lose their shine and fade over time due to poor washing or exposure to strong sunlight.
Today we will see together how to bring colorful clothes back to life with these DIY tips to make them look like new!
Apple Cider Vinegar
The first ingredient we recommend is vinegar, which can refresh the colors of your colored clothing while reviving the natural white!
Simply add a large glass of vinegar to a bowl of cold water (never hot) and let the garment soak overnight. Rinse the next day and… the color becomes more vibrant!
If you want to continue washing, we recommend using Marseille soap, which, unlike other detergents, does not penetrate the fabric and does not “eat” the color!
Salt
Like vinegar, salt is also able to lighten the color of your clothes, as it not only lightens the composition of the water and removes excess limescale, but is also able to remove detergent residues stored in the fabric and reveal them its natural color.
We also remind you that this ingredient is also a godsend when it comes to eliminating the smell of dampness from laundry! Simply add a glass of salt to a bowl of cold water and let the garment soak for a few hours or overnight.
When machine washing, on the other hand, you can add 1 spoonful of coarse salt to the drum with the colored laundry and run a wash cycle at low temperature: the colors of your laundry will remain more vibrant!
