1/2 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
1/4 cup granulated sugar (plus 1 tsp for the yeast mixture)
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
2 large eggs
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup granulated sugar
