For the Dough (Bomboloni):

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup sugar

4 large egg yolks
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
For Coating:
1/2 cup granulated sugar (for rolling the bomboloni after frying)
